Biography!
What is a site about Melanie, without her biography?
January 12, 1974... Whiston Hospital, in Merseyside...
A new member of the Chisholm family was born: Melanie Jayne!
Their home was located at Rainhill, a suburb of Liverpool in the middle of the UK, but some time later they moved to Widnes.
Melanie's parents got divorced when she was very young...

Melanie always dreamed of being a pop star, so one audition was the audition of her life:
in March 1994 she replied on an advertisement for a vocal group, and with 4 other girls (I'm sure I don't have to name them for you) she formed the base of a world-famous girls group:
the Spice Girls!

Their first single (Wannabe) directly went to first place in about every country in the galaxy, and so did about every other single that was published.
Their album Spice World sold more then 55.000.000 copies worldwide, and there even came a movie:
Spiceworld The Movie!
This movie wasn't recieved very warmly by about every reviewer of it, but hey, the Spice Girls were in it! So this movie did very very well.

After releasing their single Stop, the Spice Girls had to say goodbye to Geri,
right in the middle of their European tour.
But it didn't affect the shows: all the tours were successfully completed.
Then, december 1998, the single Goodbye came.

After that the world had to live with a real long period of Spice-silence.
But, about two years later, finally the Spice Girls returned: Holler, Let Love Lead The Way and their new album Forever.

In that "long period of Spice-silence", all members of the group started a solo career.
Melanie C's first real solo single was "Goin' Down", but it didn't do too well.
After Goin' Down came Northern Star. Nowadays, ask anybody about that single and you'll hear that it is a very beautiful song, but when it was released it didn't do much better then Goin' Down.
Northern Star was also the name of Melanie's (first) solo album, released in 1999.

Melanie's success came after releasing track 6 on her album: Never Be The Same Again.
It was a complete hit, reached the number 1 in many many countries!

Another hit: I Turn To You.
The nice and quiet track 4 on her album was sent to DJ Hex Hector to remix it into a trancy track.
And Mr. Hector did a good job: also this single reached the number 1 in many many countries.
(By the way, I'm still searching for the 10+ minutes version of this Hex Hector Club mix! Anybody...?)

The next single she released, If That Were Me, didn't do as well as its two predecessors...
And now, the world is waiting for her new single!
